Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, 61, exchanged vows with screenwriter Jeff Greenstein on July 3 in Orta San Giulio, Italy, at the Villa Crespi, a 19th-century Moorish Revival hotel. The ceremony took place against the scenic backdrop of Lake Orta.
Porizkova wore a custom Chloe Mendel Corgan gown in a pale gray shade, which she described as a "not color." She explained her decision to forgo a traditional white dress, noting that as a model, she had worn numerous white bridal gowns and sought a hue that was "couldn't be described." She shared an anecdote about a guest who likened the dress's color to "element," a color beyond description, akin to water.
Greenstein, a writer and producer known for his work on "Friends" and "Will & Grace," and Porizkova found love in 2023. Their wedding occurred on the same day as the high-profile marriage of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The couple's decision to legally marry was influenced by their desire to make medical decisions for each other. Porizkova stated on their podcast, "Twenty Good Summers," that the primary reason for the union was the right to make end-of-life care decisions for one another, a sentiment she described as romantic.
This is Porizkova's second marriage. She was previously married to The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek from 1989 until their separation in 2017. Ocasek died in 2019 while recovering from cancer surgery. Porizkova discovered Ocasek had excluded her and their two sons from his will, leading to a legal dispute. She eventually secured a third of his estate and was compelled to sell their $10 million townhouse.
Porizkova's own early life involved escaping Czechoslovakia with her refugee parents during the Cold War. She was later discovered as a model at age 13 and gained international fame after appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue at 18.
The wedding photos were shared by Gabe Sachs, a friend and podcast co-host of Greenstein's, who also provided glimpses of pre-wedding preparations, including Porizkova undergoing a facial treatment. Guests at the reception witnessed Greenstein cutting a four-tiered cake.
