Paula's family has voiced significant concerns regarding her fiancé, Thomas, in the latest episode of "90 Day Fiancé" Season 12, just eight days before their wedding. The family, arriving from Brazil to celebrate the upcoming nuptials, found Thomas's living habits and strict rules unsettling, leading to tension and doubts about Paula's decision.
Thomas, 31, and Paula, 41, are preparing for their wedding, but the arrival of Paula's eight family members has immediately created a challenging living situation. Thomas, described as particular about his apartment and keen on minimizing expenses, has laid down specific rules, including a strong aversion to perfumes and deodorants, which has been a point of contention throughout the season. "I’m a very sensitive man for little smells," Thomas told Paula's family upon their arrival, requesting they refrain from using perfumes in the apartment, even in soaps.
Paula's parents expressed confusion, questioning if baby soap would be acceptable, to which Thomas eventually agreed. They found his behavior and cultural differences to be "complicated," noting, "We don’t have rules in our house for people. We try to please our guest." The family also reacted to Thomas's pride in not owning a television and his claim of having spent "zero dollars" in preparation for their stay.
Paula's brother, Aldir, shared his apprehension, telling cameras, "Sometimes I worry about how he acts, and some quirks he has," while his wife, Gizelle, found Thomas "annoying" and Aldir bluntly called him "crazy."
Paula admitted to feeling embarrassed by Thomas's lack of compromise and his behavior toward her family. She expressed uncertainty about the impending wedding, stating, "I just have one week to figure out if I will be happy, if Thomas will be happy, or if all this wedding stuff is a huge mistake."
Further conflict arose when Thomas's two-year-old steak left in the refrigerator was discovered. Aldir pointed out the spoiled food while Paula, a vegan, was upset by the waste, leading to an argument with Thomas. He explained that he had forgotten about the steak due to a sudden work trip. Aldir observed that Thomas tends to focus on minor issues rather than significant ones, remarking, "He’s crazy." He elaborated, "The things that should have a big impact on his life, he doesn’t care. But he complains about a suitcase on a mattress."
Later, Aldir spoke with Paula about his doubts regarding her marriage to Thomas. Paula acknowledged her desire to live in the U.S. but questioned if Thomas was the sole reason. "Thomas is a gift from the universe, but that doesn’t mean that he is my universe," she said. "So I want to be happy in this relationship, but I can’t be happy with him if I’m not happy with myself."
Aldir voiced his concern that their differences might be insurmountable, describing Thomas's behavior as "childish" and reminding Paula of her successful business career in Brazil. These conversations appear to have influenced Paula, who confessed to cameras that she is now unsure about going through with the wedding. "Thomas and I, we have so many things going on that I’m really don’t know if I’m going to say yes," she said. "I love him, but not enough to sign for a life of being not happy."
