Sir Paul McCartney performed a classic Beatles song at the wedding reception of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, according to reports. The legendary musician is said to have serenaded the newlyweds with the 1963 hit "I Want to Hold Your Hand" at their celebration held at Madison Square Garden on Friday evening.
A source confirmed McCartney's performance to People on Saturday, stating that after the ceremony, Swift's mother, Andrea, invited guests into the reception room where a stage was set up. Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks was also reported to have performed at the event, which continued into the early hours of Saturday morning. Page Six had previously reported that Nicks and Tim McGraw would entertain guests at the soirée.
Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce, both 36, invited approximately 1,000 guests to celebrate their union at the New York City venue. Earlier on Thursday evening, a more intimate rehearsal dinner for 100 of the couple's close friends and family was held at the same location. Notable attendees included Selena Gomez, Erin Andrews, Ross Travis, and Swift's publicist Tree Paine.
Following the main celebration on Friday, signs outside Madison Square Garden displayed "JUST & T MARRIED" to announce the couple's official union. The Empire State Building was illuminated with blue lights as a nod to Swift's "something blue."
A press release later revealed that Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior Haute Couture for their vows. Comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, with Austin Swift serving as "Man of Honor" and Jason Kelce as "Best Man."
AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron shared details of the event on social media, describing the Madison Square Garden venue as being transformed into "an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat." He noted that the couple's vows were "long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing," detailing how they met and their promises to each other. Aron also described a "sweep you off your feet kiss" and an "exquisite" reception with "superb food and drink and music, music, music."
McCartney and Swift have maintained a friendship for years, even appearing together on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2020.
