Paris Jackson marked the release of her second studio album, "Happiest Day of My Life," with a celebratory launch party in Los Angeles this past weekend. The event, held at the Velocity Black Residence, drew a crowd of family members and notable industry figures.
Jackson, 28, was accompanied by her brother Prince Jackson and aunt LaToya Jackson. Among the celebrity attendees were Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Willow Smith, Evan Ross, Michael Braun, and Vas J Morgan.
For the occasion, Jackson sported a bohemian-inspired cream lace slip dress paired with khaki suede boots. Her aunt LaToya Jackson opted for a shimmering gold metallic pantsuit, while Paris Hilton wore a snakeskin print top with a brown mini-skirt and knee-high boots. Nicky Hilton was dressed in a marigold plaid dress.
Willow Smith, seen embracing Jackson during the evening, wore a black top with baggy jeans. Prince Jackson kept his look casual in a gray polo shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.
Jackson discussed the inspiration behind "Happiest Day of My Life" with KROQ's Miles The DJ, describing the album as a reflection of an "inner angsty teen that never really went away." She noted that the record was created with that persona in mind.
Jackson also shared insights into her musical direction for the album, explaining her desire to explore "more abrasive" sounds that "doesn't sound pretty." While she identifies as a folk artist at heart, she aims to experiment with various forms of production. She indicated that this specific sound might not be a permanent direction, stating, "I am a folk artist at heart; I'm always going to do the singer-songwriter thing."
She collaborated with producer Linda Perry on the album, with much of their work involving co-writing. Jackson credited Perry with having "a gift for melody" and described a creative process where Perry often provided taglines and melodies, while Jackson focused on crafting the lyrics.
Perry encouraged Jackson to be more specific in her songwriting, a departure from the vagueness that some of her influences employ. Jackson stated that she is still learning to stray from vagueness and articulate her experiences more precisely.
English TV personality Vas J Morgan, who attended the event, posted on Instagram calling it 'the happiest day of my life' and encouraged listeners to engage with the new record.
"Happiest Day of My Life" is now available. The album is Jackson's first release since her 2020 debut, "Wilted."
