Parenting influencer Jamal Morton, known online as J'Amore or Mr Jay, announced the death of his two-year-old daughter, Rose, who drowned in the family's swimming pool at their Georgia home on Monday. Morton stated that his daughter wandered into the backyard and entered the pool, believing she could swim on her own.

Morton, who shares parenting comedy and family life content, has amassed over 1.1 million followers on TikTok. His daughter Rose frequently appeared in his videos. He shared the news of her death on social media, writing, "I lost my daughter. She thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself. She walked out of the house and got into the pool where she drowned."

The incident occurred at the family's home in Hoschton, Georgia. The exact time of the drowning is unclear, and the Hall County Sheriff's Office has been contacted for more information. Morton, a father of six, uses his unfenced pool as a backdrop for some of his content, including videos posted in April 2025 showing Rose taking her first steps near the pool's edge.

Morton announced that he is taking a break from social media to cope with the loss. His management team is currently monitoring his social media accounts. "Management is keeping his platforms running while he and his family take time to grieve the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl," his team stated. "This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss."

The influencer is seeking donations to help with funeral costs and relocation expenses, as the family plans to move from the home. "We have to move away because we can't live in that house anymore, and I don't think I'll ever be able to work anytime soon. Anything helps," he wrote.

This incident echoes other tragic drownings involving children of public figures. In May 2025, three-year-old Trigg, son of influencers Emilie and Brady Kiser, drowned in their Arizona backyard pool. Police video evidence indicated the child was unsupervised for over nine minutes. Emilie Kiser's three-year-old son Trigg died on May 18, 2025, six days after he was found unresponsive in the family's backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona. Kiser pictured with Trigg in February 2025

In June 2018, 19-month-old Emeline, daughter of Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan, drowned in a neighbor's pool in California after wandering unnoticed into their backyard.
