Paramount+ released the trailer for the forthcoming documentary Ozzy: No Escape From Now, which was shot before the rocker’s death on July 22 at age 76. Directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Tania Alexander, the film chronicles Osbourne’s health battles and his return to the stage for a farewell show on July 5 in Birmingham, England. The trailer interweaves interviews with his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and their children—Aimee, Kelly and Jack—reflecting on his life and career.

The trailer captures Osbourne’s reflections on aging. The singer says, "The thing about getting old, you know, I used to take pills for fun," and "Now I take them to stay alive." Sharon Osbourne, in a scene filmed before the final concert, says his "one regret is that he never really said goodbye to his fans." The family recounts the February 2019 fall that sidelined a two-year farewell tour, and how surgery and complications left him noticeably diminished. Jack Osbourne recalls, "He comes out of surgery, and he’s far worse." Aimee adds that canceling the tour was "his biggest heartbreak."

The trailer also highlights a 2019 collaboration with Post Malone that helped rejuvenate Osbourne. "I had a blast. That was the best medicine I ever had," he says. "I’m not good at being sick. I belong up there." He tells producers that he is at peace with dying, saying, "If my life is coming to an end, I really can’t complain. I had a great life." Paramount describes the film as "an honest, warm and deeply personal portrait of one of the greatest rock stars of all time, detailing how the singer’s world shuddered to a halt six years ago, forcing him to confront his own mortality and question whether or not he can ever perform on stage for one last time."

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76. The official cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. He was laid to rest near the lake of his Buckinghamshire home on July 31, with a funeral procession through Birmingham the day before drawing thousands of fans as Sharon and the couple’s children—Aimee, Kelly and Jack—joined mourners in the streets.

"Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights," she wrote. "Ozzy: No Escape From Now" premieres Oct. 7 on Paramount+.
