Pamela Anderson on Friday rejected suggestions that her recent bond with co-star Liam Neeson is a publicity stunt, saying she will not "feed into PR stunts" and calling such tactics "a death sentence."

Speaking as she accepted the Deauville 2025 Talent Award at the Deauville American Film Festival in France, the 58-year-old actress said she was "authentically driven" and insisted there were "no silly games being played" in her personal life. The comments came amid media attention after Anderson and Neeson, 73, stoked romance rumours during the press run for their film, which opened Aug. 1.

"I do not and will never feed into PR stunts. That would be a death sentence. I'm authentically driven," Anderson told the festival audience. She said she was "superstitious when it comes to love" and that she was not comfortable sharing details of her romantic life publicly. "I'm not comfortable sharing any shred of my romantic life," she added.

Anderson also framed on-screen romance as part of an actor's craft. "I know I'll fall in love again and again on screen. That is my job. If we do it well, you will feel it, a kind of projection. It is the greatest compliment," she said, asking the public to "think positive" and thanking people for their well-wishes.

She emphasized sincerity and pushed back on misreadings of her demeanor. "There are no silly games being played. I am sincere. Do not mistake my kindness for weakness or my boldness for bitterness," Anderson said.

The festival appearance followed a press tour for the film that drew attention to Anderson and Neeson's on-screen partnership and sparked reports of a real-life relationship. Organizers of the Deauville American Film Festival presented the Talent Award as part of the event's program celebrating American cinema; Anderson accepted the honor during the 2025 edition on Friday.

Anderson's remarks reiterated a boundary between her public work and private life while acknowledging the media scrutiny that often follows high-profile promotional runs. She asked for positive attention for the film's performances and for consideration of her privacy when it comes to personal matters.
