The St. Regis Hotel has filed a lawsuit against Kaitlyn Rose Kennedy-Melanson, a beauty pageant titleholder and social media influencer, alleging she failed to pay the final $40,000 of her wedding bill. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, states that Kennedy-Melanson owes a remaining balance for her wedding events held at the luxury hotel in September 2025.

The hotel claims Kennedy-Melanson has not settled the outstanding $37,000, which has accumulated to over $40,000 with interest, despite having already paid $106,000 for the event. According to court documents, the services provided by the St. Regis included the rental of a penthouse suite for the couple and extensive catering, which alone accounted for $100,000. The hotel also provided a five-hour open premium bar and other event amenities.

Kennedy-Melanson, who was crowned Miss New York Elite, held her wedding ceremony at St. Patrick's Cathedral before proceeding to the St. Regis for the reception. The hotel alleges that Kennedy-Melanson received an invoice a week after the wedding with payment due within 30 days. Following her failure to pay the final amount, the hotel initiated legal action, citing a dispute resolution clause in the signed contract that mandates the debtor cover interest and legal costs.

The lawsuit notes that Kennedy-Melanson, who has over 111,000 followers on Instagram, has posted numerous photos from her wedding. One post, describing the event as "Our version of a royal wedding," was shared five days after the hotel claims the final bill was sent. Her social media also features images of luxury items, including designer perfume and shoes, from her special day.

This is not the first time Kennedy-Melanson has faced legal action over unpaid debts. Records indicate she was sued in 2022 for $3,100 in unpaid rent for an apartment, a matter that was later settled.

Kennedy-Melanson has denied the allegations and declined to comment further on the lawsuit.
