Outlander: Blood of My Blood will release its seventh episode, titled "Luceo Non Uro," on Friday, Sept. 12, STARZ confirmed. The episode will be available to stream on the STARZ app at midnight and will air on STARZ at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT in the United States and at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT in Canada.
Fans tuning in to the Starz prequel this week can expect further developments after last week’s installment, which revealed that Claire (Caitriona Balfe) has a previously unknown brother and that Julia (Hermione Corfield) persuaded Jamie’s grandfather to accept the infant as his own. The episode also showed that Arch Bug (Terence Rae) deceived Henry (Jeremy Irvine) into believing Julia and the child had died, and strengthened the on-screen friendship between Brian (Jamie Roy) and Julia amid the turmoil at Castle Leathers.
The episode’s title, "Luceo Non Uro," is the Clan MacKenzie motto and translates from Latin as "I shine, not burn." The phrase has been woven into the series’ character naming, including Ellen’s name, which evokes the idea of light.
STARZ has been releasing new episodes of Blood of My Blood on Fridays since Aug. 8. The rollout began with Episode 1, "Providence," and included Episode 2, "S.W.A.K. (Sealed With a Kiss)," on the same date. Subsequent episodes aired on successive Fridays with "School of the Moon" on Aug. 15, "A Soldier’s Heart" on Aug. 22, "Needfire" on Aug. 29, and "Birthright" on Sept. 5. Following "Luceo Non Uro" on Sept. 12, the schedule lists "A Virtuous Woman" on Sept. 19, "Braemar" on Sept. 26, a planned pause on Oct. 3, and "Something Borrowed" on Oct. 10.
Viewers seeking free options should note that STARZ is not currently offering a new-subscriber trial on its own platform, although the network is promoting discounted monthly and annual subscription offers. STARZ is advertising a temporary three-month offer of $4.99 per month and a discounted annual prepaid rate. Prime Video Channels continues to offer a seven-day trial for STARZ, after which the channel subscription reverts to its standard monthly price.
Production updates indicate that STARZ has greenlit a second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which is reportedly shooting in Scotland. Though the series begins with Henry and Julia meeting during World War I—specifically in 1917—most of the prequel is set in the early 1710s; recent episodes place the timeline in the summer of 1715, clarifying how long characters have been displaced from their original era.
The ensemble cast includes Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston, Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp, Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie, Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan. Recent episodes have also referenced familiar Outlander characters, including Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), in key revelations.
With only a handful of episodes remaining in the current release schedule, the series continues to raise questions about several storylines: whether Henry and Julia will reconcile, how Ellen will extricate herself from an engagement to Malcolm Grant (Jhon Lumdsen), and the identity and role of Claire’s newly revealed brother. "Luceo Non Uro" is expected to address some of those threads when it premieres on Sept. 12.
