Olympic Breakdancer Raygun Gunn Launches Clothing Line Amidst Mixed Reception

Olympic breakdancer Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn has ventured into the fashion industry with the launch of her own clothing brand, Raygun Threads. The new venture was announced on a dedicated Instagram page for the label.

The collection, which includes hoodies priced at $120, shirts for $60, and keyrings for $15, debuted on Wednesday. Initial engagement on the Raygun Threads Instagram page showed around 70 followers and a few comments within the first hour of the launch. The brand's offerings are described as "Tees, hoodies, and more made for car karaoke, living room dance floors, and hugging loved ones."

Gunn, who recently gained renewed public attention following the release of her Netflix documentary "Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly," modeled the apparel herself in promotional images.

The documentary delves into Gunn's performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she admitted to lacking foundational breakdancing skills prior to the event. She also acknowledged the "cringe" nature of her performance and revealed that her Olympic preparations were largely unstructured, with her head coach occupied by administrative duties. Her training primarily fell to her husband, Samuel Free, also a breakdancer.

Gunn stated in the documentary that she proceeded with the Olympics despite recognizing her skill deficit, as she feared regretting not participating more.

"It's been a journey since Paris. I couldn't even really break to begin with. I've been doing gradual pushes this whole way... I know for sure I'm never going to stop breaking," Gunn said, indicating her continued dedication to the sport.

The Netflix documentary has faced widespread criticism on social media, with some viewers labeling Gunn as "delusional."
