Olivia Wilde's latest directorial effort, "The Invite," is now accessible on digital platforms for purchase and rental. The film, co-written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, is an English-language adaptation of Cesc Gay's 2020 Spanish film "The People Upstairs."

Wilde also stars in "The Invite" as Angela, a wife who invites her unconventional upstairs neighbors, Pína (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton), over for dinner, a move that strains her already fragile marriage to Joe (Seth Rogen).

Beginning Tuesday, August 11, at 12 a.m. Eastern Time, the film is available on digital marketplaces such as Amazon Prime Video, Fandango At Home, and Apple TV. Pricing may vary by platform, with a pre-order digital copy on Prime Video costing $24.99. A release date for a DVD version has not yet been announced.

While "The Invite" is not currently available on subscription-based streaming services, it is expected to eventually stream on HBO Max. This is due to a 2023 agreement between A24 and Warner Bros. Discovery, which designates HBO Max as the primary streaming destination for A24's theatrical releases following their home media availability.

The exact streaming release date on HBO Max remains unannounced. However, based on the typical rollout of A24 films under this deal, "The Invite" could potentially begin streaming around mid-November 2026. This timeline is based on other A24 titles, such as "The Drama," which arrived on HBO Max approximately three months after its digital release. This estimate is speculative, as A24's release strategies have varied.

For immediate viewing, purchasing or renting a digital copy is the current option.
