Olivia Wilde, 41, made her first public outing with Caspar Jopling, 33, at a W Magazine event during New York Fashion Week on Thursday, multiple reports said.

The pair were photographed and seen chatting outside the members-only social club Chez Margaux during the party. Wilde wore a semi-sheer gown with fluted sleeves, a ruffled skirt and a fur stole draped over one shoulder; Jopling wore a black shirt and trousers.

The appearance follows a public display last week in London when Wilde and Jopling were photographed in a close embrace outside a restaurant. British tabloid coverage said the two spent several hours together at The Pelican in Notting Hill, where sources told the Daily Mail they drank red wine before leaving the venue.

The Daily Mail report quoted a source saying Jopling has allowed the pair to meet “under the radar” by using venues in which he has a business interest. The report said Jopling is an investor in The Pelican and its nearby sister pub, The Fat Badger, and that those locations offer “little concealed spots in dark corners reserved for celebrities.” The source added that The Fat Badger is invitation-only and has a private upstairs terrace.

Both the London sightings and Thursday’s New York appearance follow reporting that the couple has been seeing one another since July. Neither Wilde nor Jopling has issued a public statement about their relationship.

Jopling, an art dealer and investor, separated from singer Ellie Goulding last year after nearly five years of marriage. Goulding, 38, has been seen publicly with a new partner, 28-year-old American actor Beau Minniear, in recent months.

Wilde, a director and actress, ended a seven-year engagement to Jason Sudeikis in 2020; she and Sudeikis share two children. After her split from Sudeikis, Wilde was publicly linked to pop star Harry Styles.

Caspar Jopling comes from an established Yorkshire family and was educated at Eton. His father is the Honourable Nicholas Jopling and his grandfather is Thomas Michael Jopling, a member of the House of Lords. His uncle, Jay Jopling, is a well-known art dealer who has run art platforms including Paddle8; Jay Jopling was previously married to director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

The Jopling family has connections to British country estates and equestrian events; family property includes the Grade II-listed Frickley Hall, and the family hosts the Frickley Horse Trials, according to public records and past coverage.

Representatives for Wilde and Jopling did not immediately respond to requests for comment through the social media channels and contact methods routinely used by their teams.
