Olivia Wilde attended W Magazine’s New York Fashion Week party on Thursday with Caspar Jopling, marking their first public outing together since reports of a romance between the two.
The event took place at members-only social club Chez Margaux, where the 41-year-old actress was photographed chatting with the 33-year-old art dealer outside the venue. Wilde wore a semi-sheer gown with dramatic fluted sleeves and a ruffled skirt, draping a fur stole over one shoulder and finishing the look with chunky heels. Jopling arrived in a black shirt and smart trousers.
The appearance follows a widely reported sighting last week in West London, when Wilde and Jopling were seen embracing outside The Pelican after a three-hour dinner and glasses of red wine. The Daily Mail reported that the couple have been dating since July and that Jopling is an investor in The Pelican and its nearby sister pub, The Fat Badger, which sources said has allowed them greater privacy. A source told the Daily Mail, "Those pubs have allowed Caspar to date a world-famous actress under the radar for months," and said the pair often secure discreet tables or visit the invitation-only Fat Badger for private evenings.
Jopling previously was married to singer Ellie Goulding; the couple split last year after nearly five years of marriage, the Daily Mail reported. Goulding, 38, has also been seen recently in Notting Hill on a date with actor Beau Minniear, 28.
Born in Yorkshire and educated at Eton, Jopling comes from an aristocratic family with ties to the art world and public service. His father is the Honourable Nicholas Jopling, and his grandfather is politician Thomas Michael Jopling, a member of the House of Lords, the Daily Mail noted. His uncle, art dealer Jay Jopling, founded the online platform Paddle 8; the report said Princess Eugenie previously worked there in New York before returning to London. The family owns the Grade II-listed Frickley Hall and is known in equestrian circles for hosting the Frickley Horse Trials.
Wilde, a director and actor, split from Jason Sudeikis in 2020 after a seven-year engagement; the two share two children. She later had a high-profile relationship with pop star Harry Styles. Neither Wilde nor Jopling issued public statements about their reported relationship following Thursday’s event.
