Oliver Boot, the actor ex-husband of "Call The Midwife" star Helen George, has welcomed a son with his wife, actress Emma Harrold. Their baby boy, Ralph David Boot, was born on May 15.
Harrold shared the news on Instagram, detailing a challenging labor that led to an emergency caesarean section. "After quite a bumpy journey into the world, many hours of labour, and some concern over baby's heart rate, he arrived safely via emergency c section, giving us all a little more drama than we had planned for!" she wrote.
Boot, 47, and Harrold, 35, confirmed their son's arrival after marrying in August 2023, eight years after Boot's separation from George was publicly announced in September 2015. Boot is currently performing as Draco Malfoy in "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" in London's West End.
George, 42, and Boot met while starring in the BBC drama "Hotel Babylon" and were married in 2012. Their separation was confirmed as George began her "Strictly Come Dancing" stint. Her representative stated at the time, "I can confirm that Helen separated from her husband some time ago."
George and Boot have no children together. George later had two daughters, Wren and Lark, with her "Call The Midwife" co-star Jack Ashton, with whom she separated in 2023 after a seven-year relationship.
In a recent podcast appearance, George revealed she has begun wearing her wedding ring from her marriage to Boot again. She explained her decision was inspired by Jennifer Worth, the author of "Call The Midwife," who wore a ring from a past relationship as a reminder. "I always remember that. And I thought, 'I'm going to do the same actually because it is part of me,'" George said on the Mystic Mates podcast.
This news comes as George navigates her own recent personal life changes. She recently ended a relationship with property marketing agency boss Dan Innes, 52, whom she had been dating since March 2025. Innes had moved into George's west London home earlier this year, but they parted ways in July. George described the period following their breakup as "pretty s**t."
On her podcast, George also shared her thoughts on future relationships, humorously stating her next goal is to find an Australian husband who is "slightly spiritual, but very practical."
