A highly anticipated documentary chronicling the Oasis reunion and the reconciliation between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher will exclude any mention of Noel's ex-wife, Sara MacDonald. This decision stems from a non-disparagement agreement signed as part of Noel Gallagher's 2024 divorce settlement with MacDonald. The couple, who were together for 22 years and married for 12, announced their split in 2023. Gallagher reportedly paid £20 million and transferred an £8 million country house in Hampshire to his former wife as part of the divorce.

MacDonald and Liam Gallagher reportedly had a strained relationship, with Liam previously blaming her, among other factors, for the prolonged rift between the brothers that intensified after Oasis disbanded in 2009. In a 2016 interview, Liam suggested MacDonald was preventing a band reunion, stating, "His missus, Sara MacDonald, won't let him get that band back together. She wears the trousers, mate." During Noel's marriage, Liam frequently criticized his brother's perceived "social pretensions" and accused him of betraying their working-class roots.

MacDonald also appeared to have a negative view of Liam, once responding to a question about watching him perform by saying she would "swerve that," and referring to his act as "pretty dated." Liam retaliated by sending a message to Noel's daughter, Anais, which Noel described as menacing and unforgivable.

Despite the animosity, Noel and Liam Gallagher reconciled in 2024, reportedly at the urging of Liam's girlfriend, Debbie Gwyther. The brothers announced plans for a series of reunion shows in summer 2025, sharing a joint statement that declared, "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised."

The documentary, produced in collaboration with Steven Knight, creator of "Peaky Blinders," is set to premiere in cinemas in September before streaming on Disney+. It is expected to cover the brothers' journey from intense rivalry to becoming a reunited major band. Filmmakers reportedly captured early discussions and the initial meeting to explore the possibility of a reunion, with sources describing the footage as "incredible" and the interviews as "very moving, powerful and have the pair displaying real emotion."

However, the legal agreement prevents either Gallagher brother from discussing MacDonald in media projects, necessitating the exclusion of her role in their estrangement and reconciliation. A spokesperson for the band and for Noel Gallagher declined to comment on the matter.
