Oasis Confirms They Will Not Headline Glastonbury 2027
Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis debunks fan speculation about a potential Pyramid Stage closing set.
Oasis will not be headlining the Glastonbury Festival in 2027, co-organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed, despite the band's upcoming tour coinciding with the festival dates. Speculation had mounted among fans after the band announced a series of UK, Ireland, Europe, and US concerts for 2027, with dates scheduled for the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury weekend at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.
Liam Gallagher, frontman for Oasis, also previously dismissed the rumours on social media platform X. "It's not happening," he wrote in response to a fan account that noted the band were favourites among bookmakers to headline the festival.
Oasis last performed at Glastonbury in 2004, headlining the Pyramid Stage. The band, featuring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, also headlined the festival in 1995 and made their debut in 1994 on the NME Stage. While both brothers have performed at Worthy Farm as solo artists during periods of separation, a joint performance in 2027 appears unlikely.
The Glastonbury Festival typically offers significant global exposure for artists, though Eavis has previously indicated that headliners receive considerably less payment compared to other engagements. The band's recent comeback tour, which followed a hiatus in 2026, reportedly generated an estimated £300 million and was documented in their concert film "Don't Look Back in Anger."
While Oasis will not be appearing, Eavis confirmed in March that the headliners for the upcoming summer festival have been booked. She also refuted rumours that Madonna would be among them, stating, "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that." Eavis revealed that three headliners are confirmed and expressed excitement about the lineup coming together.
Taylor Swift was previously announced as a headliner for Glastonbury's 50th anniversary in 2020, but the festival was cancelled that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like Madonna, she has yet to make her debut at Worthy Farm. Eavis has remained tight-lipped about further lineup possibilities, including Swift's potential appearance.
