Cronulla Sharks player Toby Rudolf has stated his intention to have '100 girlfriends,' describing his current relationship philosophy as seeking romantic connections without the confines of traditional monogamy. Rudolf, who has previously identified as heterosexual but open to affection across genders, shared this aspiration in an interview promoting the Petbarn Seeing Eye Dogs Australia appeal.

Rudolf, 30, indicated that monogamy has not been successful for him in the past. "I'm looking for a romantic connection any way it comes," he told News Corp. "I'm not a traditional male in any sense, I'm all about free love and if someone wants to experience that with me and have an open sort of style relationship, that's what I've had in the past and it works great for me."

He expressed openness to a partner seeing other people, provided he receives the same freedom. "I think I just love love too much," Rudolf explained. He also stated he would be comfortable hearing about his partner's other experiences within an open relationship. "There's no real boundaries from my point of view. I'll even ask her questions because I like hearing stories," he said. He did not rule out the possibility of a monogamous relationship, but noted that past attempts had not met his expectations.

These comments build on earlier statements Rudolf made in 2022, when he openly discussed his sexuality in support of an NRL pride round. At that time, he described himself as heterosexual but with shared same-sex experiences, comfortable showing affection regardless of gender. "Sexuality is very fluid. I've been out and kissed many gay men, kissed many straight women and kissed many gay women," he told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I'm not a one-stop shop. Love is love, and I love to share it with everyone. You could say I'm open to both genders but only attracted to one of them."

Rudolf's upbringing included exposure to the LGBTQI community through his uncle and godmother. His remarks also addressed a 2021 post-match comment where he declared an intention to drink '1,000 beers' before visiting a nightclub to 'try and pull something - anything will do,' which earned him an official warning from the NRL. Rudolf later clarified that he had not specified 'women' in that original statement.

Separately, Rudolf indicated his likelihood of remaining with the Cronulla Sharks beyond his current contract, stating, "I want to be somewhere where I'm wanted. That's where I want to be. I think I'm going to be in Cronulla."

Previously, Rudolf also shared that he has no desire to become a father, citing selfishness and a preference for traveling and experiencing life without the responsibilities of parenthood. He noted that observing friends' experiences with co-parenting seemed like a drain on energy.
