North West's highly anticipated debut headlining tour, the 14-date Kimokawaii Tour with artist Molly Santana, has been canceled just days before its scheduled August 5 kickoff in Dallas. North, the 13-year-old eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, confirmed the cancellation via her Instagram stories on Thursday, stating, "I was really excited to go on tour w molly santana sadly it isn't happening anymore but i have something special for u guys see ya soon." No further explanation was provided.
Several tour dates, including the August 5 Dallas show and the August 17 date in Toronto, are now marked as "canceled" on Ticketmaster. The Los Angeles concert, originally slated for August 27 at The Novo, has also been removed from ticketing websites. Santana also addressed the tour's cancellation on her Instagram stories, issuing an apology to fans who had purchased tickets. "To everyone who bought tickets to the tour i sincerely apologize i know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard earned money planning to be there," she wrote.
North, who celebrated her 13th birthday on June 15, has been actively pursuing a music career. In May, she released her debut EP, "N0rth4evr," accompanied by a music video. She has also collaborated with her father, Kanye West, performing with him on stage and releasing a song titled "Piercing On My Hand." Last year, she made a guest appearance on FKA Twigs' album, "EUSEXUA."
In February, North signed a deal with the independent entertainment firm Gamma, which is led by former Apple executive Larry Jackson. Kardashian had previously promoted the upcoming tour on her Instagram stories in the weeks leading up to the announcement.
The cancellation comes amid public attention on North's evolving personal style, which has included bold fashion choices and perceived "face piercings." She has been seen sporting various accessories, including nose and lip studs, and elaborate nail designs, at public events and on social media. Earlier this year, she reportedly signed a deal with the label Gamma.
