Noel Gallagher was seen attending the World Cup quarter-final match between Spain and Belgium in Los Angeles on Friday. The Oasis musician appeared tense as he watched the game from the stands.
Gallagher was accompanied by his son, Sonny. He was also seen mingling with actors Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem, as well as Brad Pitt. Gallagher was dressed casually in a white T-shirt and sunglasses.
Cruz and Bardem have been vocal supporters of the Spanish team throughout the tournament, with Bardem seen cheering after Spain scored. Cruz wore a white football shirt and a burgundy baseball cap.
Spain advanced to the quarter-finals after topping their group and defeating Austria and Portugal in the knockout stages. The match against Belgium was the second of four quarter-final fixtures.
Gallagher's appearance comes as reports suggest Oasis is planning a return to the stage. The band, which famously split in 2009, is rumored to be scheduled for a 12-night residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium and six shows at Knebworth. These dates are reportedly planned for June and September, with discussions about announcing the reunion during the World Cup due to the song "Wonderwall"'s association with the tournament.
