Actress Nina Dobrev experienced a discomfiting moment on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival when she was seemingly directed to move by a security official.

Arriving in an Armani Privé strapless gown adorned with black sequins and green mesh detailing, Dobrev took her position for photographers. However, an individual in a black suit entered the frame and gestured for her to move along, appearing to give her instructions. A woman off-camera briefly intervened, after which Dobrev was able to pose for a few seconds, playfully twirling the drapes of her dress with a stern expression.

Security personnel then quickly reappeared and escorted her away. Dobrev made an awkward frowning face before moving on, letting out a giggle that suggested disbelief.

The incident quickly circulated on social media, with users commenting on the awkwardness of the situation. "If I were Nina Dobrev getting kicked off of the Venice Film Festival red carpet, I would've evaporated from sheer embarrassment," one user wrote on X.

Another user questioned, "Did she stay too long, or was it their lack of organization? Either way, it was embarrassing."

Dobrev's red carpet appearance comes after recent speculation about her personal life. In June, she was seen in New York City, fueling romance rumors with male model Dougie Joseph. Dobrev and former Olympic snowboarder Shaun White ended their engagement in September 2025. The couple, who first met in 2019, became Instagram official in 2020 and made their red carpet debut in May 2022.

White proposed to Dobrev in New York City two years after their red carpet debut. A source told People at the time of their engagement's end, "It was a mutual decision, and wasn't an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another."
