Nikki Glaser said the public engagement of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could prompt people to reassess what they expect from romantic partners, even to the point of "ruining" relationships for some.

The comedian, who described herself as a devoted Swift fan, made the remarks in an interview with Entertainment Tonight after the couple announced their engagement Aug. 26. Glaser pointed to the couple’s on‑air chemistry — including moments shared on Kelce’s Aug. 11 episode of his New Heights podcast — as an example of mutual enthusiasm that could change what observers believe they deserve in a relationship.

"Every Swiftie couldn't be happier just to see her celebrated in that way and shown off in that way," Glaser said. "He's obsessed with her, and that's what every girl deserves! And every guy deserves!" She added that Swift likewise appears to "worship" Kelce, and suggested viewers may conclude, "Maybe I deserve better."

Glaser, 41, who is dating producer Chris Convy, called Kelce "the kind of guy that you want your best friend to be with" and said she saw the engagement coming, describing it as "very obvious to me that this was, like, going to be lasting forever." Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023 and announced their engagement last month.

The comments come as part of Glaser’s broader public profile. The Ohio‑born comedian, who has performed on multiple stand‑up tours, said last year she attended several of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts while on the road. The New York Times recently named her among notable comics for 2024, and she is scheduled to return as host of the Golden Globes in January 2026 after receiving widespread attention for her previous turn as host.

Glaser is also preparing to resume her own touring schedule. She is set to open the final leg of her Alive and Unwell Tour this week in Everett, Washington, and said she views attendance at concerts as a priority when not working. She has more than 3.9 million followers on social media.

Offstage, Glaser has discussed cosmetic procedures publicly. In March she told The Tonight Show she plans to undergo a facelift in August 2026 after delaying an earlier brow lift. She framed the decision in pragmatic terms, saying cosmetic work had made aspects of her life easier and that there remains stigma around elective procedures.

Glaser’s reaction to Swift and Kelce’s engagement reflects a broader cultural conversation about how high‑visibility relationships shape expectations. Celebrity partnerships that unfold publicly — on social media, television and podcasts — can create touchstones for fans and viewers, and public figures sometimes acknowledge how that attention influences perceptions of romantic norms.

Glaser characterized her response as celebratory as well as reflective. "Every Swiftie couldn't be happier," she said, but she also warned that the couple’s very public mutual praise could prompt others to question whether they should expect the same degree of adoration in their own relationships.
