Nicole Kidman has returned to her "Babygirl" persona in a new, sultry music video for Troye Sivan and Charli XCX's latest collaboration, "She's The Best." The Oscar-winning Australian actress, 59, takes center stage in the cinematic clip, featuring provocative scenes where she is seen smoking a cigarette and dancing.
Dressed in a fitted black outfit, Kidman is shown writhing across a bar, making direct eye contact with the camera, and performing uninhibited dance moves to the pulsating track. The video also captures her casually smoking a cigarette before launching into a dance sequence.
This marks a reunion for Kidman and Sivan, who previously collaborated on the 2018 drama "Boy Erased," which featured Sivan's feature film acting debut. Sivan told Rolling Stone that Kidman was his immediate thought for the music video. "I was like, 'Who is the best?' Nicole Kidman. She's the best. The first thing that came to my mind was, 'I wonder if she'd be in the video?'" he stated, admitting he was surprised when the acclaimed actress agreed.
The collaboration also reunites Sivan with Charli XCX, his frequent collaborator on fan favorites like "1999" and "2099."
The music video's provocative nature echoes Kidman's performance in the 2024 erotic thriller "Babygirl." In that film, she portrayed a high-powered CEO involved in a BDSM-fueled affair with a younger intern. Kidman received widespread acclaim for her role, later telling The Hollywood Reporter that she relished portraying a middle-aged woman embracing her sexuality on screen, noting that "women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being."
Kidman has spoken about the emotionally demanding nature of that role, calling it new territory. More recently, she revealed in a British Vogue cover story that she occasionally attends raves in Ibiza disguised with a wig and glasses to maintain anonymity, explaining that while naturally introverted, she enjoys "to lose it with a group of people and dance."
