Nicole Kidman, a prominent figure in Hollywood, shared insights into how she balances her demanding acting career with her role as a mother to her teenage daughters, Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15. Despite a packed filming schedule, Kidman consistently makes time for her family, a priority highlighted during a recent conversation with Extra and her "Lioness" co-star Zoe Saldana.
Saldana noted Kidman's dedication, observing that the actress would return home to her daughters immediately after completing her scenes on the action-packed spy thriller "Lioness." "Nicole would if she was there, but as soon as Nicole finishes, she flies home to her family," Saldana commented. "And it’s so beautiful to see, too."
Kidman explained her commitment to being present for her daughters, one of whom is in her junior year of high school and the other a freshman. "I go home to my family. I’ve got one child in junior year and one who's a freshman. So, I was like, 'Okay, I got to be there taking care,' you know? Multitasking, right?" she stated.
The Oscar winner shares Sunday and Faith with country music star Keith Urban. The couple separated in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, and Kidman retained primary residential custody following their divorce finalization in January. Kidman also has two older children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
Kidman's career has remained exceptionally busy, with roles in recent films such as "Babygirl" and "A Family Affair," as well as television series including "Expats," "The Perfect Couple," "Scarpetta," and "Lioness." The third season of "Lioness" is set to premiere soon.
She has previously described raising her teenage daughters as a unique experience, relying on open communication and shared routines to stay connected. "We watch Bridesmaids when we're feeling down, whenever we need a lift," Kidman told People magazine. "We watch it, we recite it, we act it out and we do that in the kitchen. And that is our go-to savior film to pull us out of a funk."
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in October 2025, Kidman expressed her sense of purpose as a mother: "My children (give me) the purpose of being their protector and their guide, promising them that I'm here and that, no matter what, there’s always a safe place to grow up in."
