Nicole Kidman has made her debut on TikTok, joining the popular social media platform with her first post offering a glimpse behind the scenes of the "Practical Magic 2" premiere. The 59-year-old actress shared a video clip showcasing her preparations for the star-studded event, which took place Thursday night at the Leicester Square Odeon in London.
Kidman appeared in a custom silver Chanel gown in the clip, captioning it, "Magic brought me here [sparkle emoji] #PracticalMagic2 @practicalmagicmovie." The post coincided with the premiere of "Practical Magic 2," a sequel to the 1998 cult film.
At the premiere, Kidman reunited with her co-star Sandra Bullock, who opted for a strapless leopard print Givenchy dress. The two actresses, reprising their roles as sisters Gillian and Sally Owens, walked the blue carpet. The sequel is based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 book, "The Book of Magic," and is set more than 25 years after the original film.
"Practical Magic 2" is scheduled for release on September 11 and also features Joey King and Maisie Williams as the next generation of the Owens family. The plot synopsis indicates that the Owens women will travel from Massachusetts to the United Kingdom to confront the source of their magic and protect the younger family members.
Earlier this month, Kidman and Bullock surprised fans by appearing at a Cinespia screening of the original "Practical Magic" at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. During the event, Bullock remarked on the film's suitability for a cemetery setting, while Kidman expressed gratitude for the support in bringing the sequel to fruition. Kidman had confirmed her return to the role in 2024. Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the original script, returned to write the sequel with Kelly Marcel and Georgia Pritchett. Susanne Bier is directing, with Kidman and Bullock serving as producers. Despite the original film's modest box office performance, it achieved cult classic status, leading Hoffman to write further books exploring the Owens family's history.
