Nicole Kidman is reflecting on her life following her separation from Keith Urban, whom she was married to for 19 years. In a recent interview with British Vogue, the 59-year-old Australian actress described her approach to this new phase as "feelings-centered," stating a desire to lead with her heart rather than solely her intellect.

Kidman acknowledged that her life has not unfolded as she anticipated, requiring significant adaptation. "I had a different view of what my life was going to be, but this is what it is now," she said. "You make all these plans and you have all these ideas of what it's all going to be like and then it's…not. You have to adjust. You adapt. The future, it's completely unknown to me right now."

She admitted to periods of fear and vulnerability but chose to move forward with hope. "I can either really not confront it and just curl up, or I can just go forward with an enormous amount of hope," Kidman stated.

The actress emphasized the importance of an "open heart" and embracing possibilities. "Trying things, making mistakes, failing, getting back up, moving on, embracing love, staying open, keeping the heart open and the possibilities," she outlined as part of living a well-examined life.

Kidman also shared her gratitude for her family, particularly her daughters. With Keith Urban, she has two daughters, Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15. She is also mother to adopted children Isabella, 34, and Connor, 31, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise. "It's an extraordinary purpose. Everything else is not important. These kids now, that's what we drop everything for," she said.

Regarding her daughters, Kidman described Sunday as having a strong sense of identity and a creative inclination, being "very European in her style" and interested in photography and filmmaking. Faith recently attended Vogue School and has a style Kidman calls "Bessette."

Recent sightings have linked Kidman with private equity mogul Michael Reinstein. The pair were first seen together in Portofino, Italy, and were later photographed in Los Angeles. Reinstein, 54, is the founder and chairman of the private equity firm Regent.

Kidman and Urban reportedly began living separately in the summer of 2025, with their split announced in September of that year. Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences, and the divorce was finalized on January 6, 2026, following a settlement agreement. Kidman was reportedly named the primary parent to their two daughters.

A source close to Kidman told the Daily Mail that she "deserves to find happiness" after her marriage to Urban. The source added that Kidman had "never thought her marriage wouldn't work out, and she tried as best as she could to keep her family intact."
