Nicole Kidman has departed Sydney, heading back to Los Angeles with her 15-year-old daughter, Faith Kidman Urban, after a brief visit to Australia. The pair were photographed at Sydney Airport on Sunday, boarding a long-haul flight.
Kidman made a surprise appearance on Friday at a special screening of "Practical Magic 2" in Sydney, surprising fans at HOYTS Cinemas Entertainment Quarter. Upon her arrival, she was met with cheers and applause. "I couldn't let you have margaritas without me!" she announced to the audience.
For the screening, Kidman wore an ivory satin and lace floral dress from Erdem's Resort 2027 collection, featuring red rose embroidery and draped detailing. She paired the dress with bright red pumps. "It's really lovely 28 years later, as women, to still be here," Kidman told the crowd. "So thank you for decades and decades of support. I love you."
She explained that she had flown to Australia to surprise her fans Down Under, having recently attended the film's Los Angeles premiere on the preceding Monday. Faith also attended the Sydney premiere.
At the airport on Sunday, Kidman opted for a casual yet chic ensemble, wearing a baby blue ruffled blouse with cream lace and bell-bottom jeans. She partially covered her strawberry blonde hair with a beige cap and wore sunglasses, appearing to have minimal makeup on for her flight. Her accessories included a black leather Chanel shopper tote. Faith was dressed comfortably in a black tank top, white track pants, and an off-white hoodie.
The "Practical Magic 2" sequel is set 25 years after the original film and is adapted from Alice Hoffman's 2021 sequel story, "The Book of Magic." Sandra Bullock reprises her role as Sally Owens, with Kidman returning as her sister Gillian. Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest, who played the eccentric aunts in the original movie, are also set to return. The film is scheduled for release in cinemas on September 10.
Kidman's recent appearance at the Los Angeles premiere also garnered attention. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, when asked about her designer attire, she appeared to stumble over her words before exclaiming, "This is Versace. Have fun. Let's party!" The moment was widely shared on social media, with many users commenting on her "iconic" and "fun" persona. For the LA premiere, Kidman wore a sheer black lace gown by Pieter Mulier for Atelier Versace with a lace choker.
