Nicole Kidman has made a striking appearance in the music video for Troye Sivan's new song, "She's the Best," released on Thursday. In the video, Kidman, 59, is seen in a skintight black dress and an oversized black coat, accessorized with leather gloves and dark sunglasses. She portrays a woman described in Sivan's lyrics, who walks down a street smoking a cigarette before entering a club.

Inside the club, Kidman dances with Sivan, 31, and interacts with a crowd that includes drag queens, among them "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 15 winner Sasha Colby. The video features intimate moments between Kidman and Sivan, with close dancing and near-face-to-face interaction. Sivan sings about the woman personified by Kidman, repeatedly calling her "that girl" before concluding, "Wow, that girl / She's the best."

The song is the lead single from Sivan's upcoming album, also titled "She's the Best," which is set to be released on October 9.

This marks the second time Kidman and Sivan have collaborated. They first met on the set of the 2018 film "Boy Erased," which was based on Gerrard Conley's 2016 memoir of the same name. In that film, Kidman played the mother of a closeted gay teenager, while Sivan portrayed another teen at a conversion therapy camp. Sivan told Rolling Stone that he has always viewed Kidman as a "picture of the divine feminine."

Sivan recalled sending Kidman the song and sharing video references, only for her to call him back mid-Zoom meeting from an unknown number. He described the moment he realized it was her: "I let it go to voicemail, and then I see the transcription starts coming, it’s like, ‘Hi darling Troye, it’s Nic,'" he said. "I slammed my laptop shut and just ended the meeting."

Fans have reacted positively to the collaboration, with many expressing surprise and enjoyment at the pairing. Comments under the video included praise for the unexpected duo and the way Sivan captured femininity in the visual.
