Nicola Thorp, known for her role as Nicola Rubinstein on Coronation Street and as a presenter on "This Morning," has announced she is pregnant with her second child. The 37-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Saturday.
Thorp and her husband, Nikesh Patel, 40, posed for a professional photoshoot with their daughter, who was seen kissing her mother's baby bump. Thorp captioned the post, "Sparking pregnancy rumours…"
The TV personality, who starred on "Coronation Street" for two years after joining the cast in 2017, has transitioned from acting to journalism and presenting. She has been a regular commentator on "This Morning" since 2020 and has also co-hosted TalkTV's "Talk Today."
Thorp has also been a prominent equal rights campaigner. She gained public attention in 2016 after she was reportedly dismissed from her receptionist job for refusing to wear high heels. She and her husband participated in "Celebrity Hunted" in 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, a year later. At the time of her birth, Thorp shared, "We are delighted to say that we recently welcomed our beautiful baby daughter into the world. Everything they say about birth being a rollercoaster of emotions is true. We're shattered and smitten and everything in between."
