Nicola Peltz Beckham marked her film festival debut at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, arriving an hour late to an event alongside veteran actress Faye Dunaway. Dunaway stars with Peltz Beckham in the upcoming film "Prima," about a ballerina, and both are scheduled to receive Kineo awards. Peltz Beckham will be honored as a 'Rising Star,' while Dunaway will receive a lifetime achievement award.
Peltz Beckham, dressed in white trousers and a camisole, expressed her gratitude for the honor, stating, "Thank you so much for having me here, this is such an honour. I'm so happy to be sitting here next to the one and only Faye Dunaway, the icon!" Dunaway, walking with a cane, commended Peltz Beckham's talent, saying, "I am very happy to be here with this lady who I can see is going to have a very big career. I think she's so talented and we are going to see so much of her."
The Kineo Awards, celebrating their 25th anniversary, recognize growing international attention for actresses through multifaceted roles. The ceremony, established in 2002, takes place during the Venice Film Festival but operates independently.
"Prima," which Peltz Beckham has been working on since January, does not yet have an official release date. The independent drama also features Jack Huston, Mira Sorvino, and Betty Gabriel, and is directed by the Morelli Brothers. Peltz Beckham stars as Margo, a ballerina facing significant life changes.
Peltz Beckham and her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, arrived in Venice on Thursday evening. The couple attended a private screening of "Prima" in Los Angeles in May, hosted by East West Bank CEO Dominic Ng.
Peltz Beckham's acting career began in 2006 with "Deck the Halls." She has also appeared in "The Last Airbender" and "Transformers: Age of Extinction." More recently, she has focused on writing and producing through her label, Bunny Films, which is partly funded by her father, Nelson Peltz. Her last film, "Lola," had limited distribution and a modest box office performance.
