Nicola Peltz Beckham is set to receive a 'rising star' award in Venice on Friday. The actress and producer arrived in the Italian city with her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, ahead of the ceremony.
Peltz Beckham, 31, will be honored at The Kineo Awards, which take place during the Venice Film Festival but are not officially part of it. The awards citation for 'rising star' notes her acting career began 20 years ago. The Kineo Awards, celebrating their 25th anniversary, recognize her growing international attention through multifaceted roles both in front of and behind the camera.
She is being honored alongside Faye Dunaway, who will receive a lifetime achievement award and co-stars in Peltz Beckham's new self-funded film, Prima. The ceremony is scheduled to be held at Venice's Casa Cinema Giovani.
Peltz Beckham wrote, directed, and starred in the independent drama Prima, which does not yet have an official release date. The film also features Dunaway, Jack Huston, Mira Sorvino, and Betty Gabriel. The movie centers on a prima ballerina facing significant life changes.
The film has drawn attention due to Peltz Beckham's significant weight loss for her role. She reportedly underwent four months of intensive ballerina training, during which her weight dropped below 100 pounds. Her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, recently defended her online after a follower commented on her appearance, stating, "Don't ever talk about my wife. She's absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman's body. It's disgraceful."
Peltz Beckham, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, married Beckham in 2022, and they renewed their vows last year. She has previously appeared in projects such as The Last Airbender, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Bates Motel.
