Nicola Peltz Beckham accepted the "Rising Star" award at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday night, crediting her husband Brooklyn and family for their unwavering support. "My family are my everything," Peltz Beckham stated during her acceptance speech. "My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place."
Accompanied by Brooklyn, who clasped her arm and guided her to the podium, Peltz Beckham, 31, appeared visibly nervous. She wore a full-length black dress and emerald and diamond earrings for the occasion at the Casa Cinema Giovani.
Earlier in the ceremony, veteran actress Faye Dunaway was honored with a lifetime achievement award. Peltz Beckham also acknowledged Dunaway, calling her an inspiration and noting that learning from her has been "incredible."
Dunaway, 85, shared advice with the audience, quoting Shakespeare: "To thine own self be true." She also expressed her affection for Venice, calling it a unique city.
There was a brief moment of confusion before Peltz Beckham took the stage, with her award being announced multiple times. She reportedly waited until Dunaway was also in place before accepting her honor.
Peltz Beckham began her acting career in 2006 at age 11 in "Deck the Halls" with Danny DeVito. Her previous roles include "The Last Airbender" and "Transformers: Age of Extinction." More recently, she has ventured into producing and writing through her label, Bunny Films, which is named after her late grandmother and partially funded by her father, businessman Nelson Peltz.
Her last film, "Lola," did not achieve wide distribution and had a limited box office performance. Peltz Beckham has been married to Brooklyn Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham, since April 2022. Their marriage has been a focal point of reported family friction, with Brooklyn Beckham having stated in January that he and his wife sought "peace."
