Nicholas Braun has been ordered by a New Hampshire court to stop using alcohol and narcotics while he remains free on bail following a DUI arrest late last month.

Court documents reviewed by People show the 37-year-old actor, known for playing Greg Hirsch on HBO's Succession, pleaded not guilty to a charge of DUI-Impairment stemming from an Aug. 29 incident. He was also charged with operating his car without lights.

According to published reports, Braun was taken into custody by Moultonborough police and held at the Carroll County jail. Sources at the time told TMZ he was arrested at about 11:15 p.m. Eastern and released around 12:15 a.m. the following day. Page Six reported Braun had been in the area to attend a wedding.

The court order, issued while Braun is out on bail, bars "any use of alcohol, and use of any narcotic drug or controlled substance," People reported. Attorneys and court officials have said an arraignment scheduled for Tuesday was not held, and the case is expected to go to trial early next year. A Daily Mail spokesperson said the outlet had reached out to Braun's representatives for comment.

Local law enforcement equipment issues meant that no mug shot was taken after the arrest, the reporting added. Details in the charging documents state Braun faces the standard prosecution for DUI-Impairment and an ancillary traffic offense for operating his vehicle without headlights.

Braun rose to wider recognition for his role as Greg Hirsch on Succession, which aired for four seasons and earned him three Primetime Emmy nominations. His character evolved from an awkward outsider to a more calculating player in the Roy family drama, participating in some of the series' most talked-about moments, including the "Boar on the Floor" sequence and congressional testimony scenes.

Beyond acting, Braun holds ownership stakes in several New York City nightlife and dining venues, including Ray’s Bar, Jac’s on Bond, Pebble Bar and S&P Lunch. His film credits include Cat Person (2023), How to Be Single (2016) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012).

Braun publicly announced a relationship with production executive Hyunji Ward via Instagram on March 26, referring to her as his "sweet sweet DARLING of a girlfriend" and writing that she makes him "my best self."

Prosecutors must prove impairment beyond a reasonable doubt for a conviction on the DUI-Impairment charge. As of the latest filings, Braun remains free on bail under the court's prohibition on alcohol and narcotics use pending further proceedings. The schedule for pretrial hearings and the expected early-year trial date were listed in local court records and reported by outlets that reviewed those documents.
