R&B singer Ne‑Yo said he and four women who are part of his polyamorous relationship sleep together in a custom-made Alaskan King mattress at his home, describing the arrangement as intentional and honest.

During a livestream with YouTuber Kai Cenat on Sept. 10, the 45-year-old singer said the group shares what he called "like two California Kings next to each other," adding that the mattress had to be specially made. An Alaskan King mattress typically measures about 9 by 9 feet.

Ne‑Yo identified the four women by the nicknames he has used publicly: Cristina ("Pretty Baby"), Arielle Hill ("Twin Flame"), Moneii ("Phoenix Feather") and Brionna Williams ("Sexy Lil' Somethin'"). He told Cenat that, while he is not married to any of the women, he regards them as his wives and that the arrangement has improved his personal life.

"My love life is phenomenal," Ne‑Yo said. "I'm in a great space. I have four beautiful ladies that who move with me on a regular." He also told the livestream audience that he did not believe the government should dictate people's private relationships and said he did not see how polygamy hurts anyone.

The singer first acknowledged his polyamorous lifestyle in an interview with TMZ last year. In interviews earlier this year, including with radio programs such as Big Boy's Neighborhood, Ne‑Yo described how he manages time among the women when he is touring: he flies a different partner out for seven days at a time and then rotates them. He said the women spend time together and that each is afforded individual time with him.

Ne‑Yo, who was divorced in 2023, is a father of seven. He was married to Crystal Renay from 2016 until their divorce was finalized last year; the former couple share three children. He has additional children from previous relationships.

Not all of his former partners have approved of his public discussion of the family dynamics. Sade Bagnerise, the mother of two of Ne‑Yo's children, posted on social media earlier this year criticizing the singer after a radio interview in which he said the children were aware of his polyamorous relationship. The posts were reported by online outlets.

Ne‑Yo said being openly polyamorous differs from his past behavior when he acknowledged being unfaithful. "I'm not forcing you to do anything, I'm not misleading you. It's nothing like that. It's all honesty," he told interviewers, emphasizing consent and transparency among the adults involved. He also cautioned that the arrangement is not for everyone, saying, "I don't recommend anything to anybody—what works for me might not work for you."

The singer has discussed variations of the relationship publicly on multiple occasions, and described a shared social rhythm in which the women rotate time with him and also spend time together. He said one important element is that each partner receives individual attention.

As conversations about nonmonogamous relationships have moved into mainstream media, Ne‑Yo's comments reflect wider public interest in how high-profile figures manage unconventional domestic arrangements. He has framed his approach as deliberate and transparent, while acknowledging it will not suit everyone.
