This marks the eighth film in the series and the second attempt at a reboot, following 2021's "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City."
The 2026 movie, titled "Resident Evil," is set in the present day and draws inspiration from the 1998 "Resident Evil 2" video game. The plot centers on Austin Abrams as Bryan, a medical courier caught in a zombie outbreak while making a delivery to Raccoon City General hospital.
