The new Apple Original film, "The Dink," is set to premiere on Friday, July 24, exclusively on Apple TV. The comedy centers on Dusty, a veteran tennis pro and coach portrayed by Jake Johnson, who inherits his father's country club. Dusty becomes entangled in a long-standing feud against pickleball, a sport rapidly gaining popularity and challenging the club's traditional tennis roots.

Following an old injury, Dusty reluctantly tries his hand at pickleball and finds himself surprisingly enjoying the game, particularly with his new partner, Candace, played by Mary Steenburgen. The film's synopsis indicates Dusty is torn between his past athletic failures, including a rivalry with childhood nemesis Andy Roddick, and the uncertain future of the club, his relationship with his father, and his own identity.

Tennis legends John McEnroe and Andy Roddick will both appear in the film, playing themselves. Other cast members include Ed Harris as Dusty's father, Chloe Fineman, Patton Oswalt, Aaron Chen, Martin Kove, Chris Parnell, Christine Taylor, and Lynne Marie Stewart.

While Apple TV has not officially confirmed a release time, new titles are often available starting at 9:00 p.m. ET the night before the listed premiere date. Therefore, "The Dink" may be streamable as early as July 23.

To watch "The Dink," a subscription to Apple TV is required. New subscribers can take advantage of a seven-day free trial. Alternatively, Amazon Prime members can subscribe to Apple TV through Prime Video for the same monthly price, which also includes a seven-day trial and allows streaming within the Prime Video app.
