This week brings a slate of new movie releases to Video on Demand (VOD) platforms, including "The Mandalorian and Grogu," Steven Spielberg's "Disclosure Day," and a reboot of the "Scary Movie" franchise.
"The Mandalorian and Grogu," the latest cinematic installment in the Star Wars universe, is now available on digital platforms. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film features Pedro Pascal reprising his role as bounty hunter Din Djarin. He and his apprentice Grogu embark on a mission to rescue Rotta The Hutt, son of Jabba, played by Jeremy Allen White. The movie premiered in theaters in May to mixed reviews.
Steven Spielberg returns with his science fiction epic "Disclosure Day." The film stars Emily Blunt as a meteorologist and Josh O’Connor as a cybersecurity analyst who team up to reveal the existence of extraterrestrial life. Colin Firth portrays a government contractor pursuing them.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans have co-written "Scary Movie," the sixth film in the franchise they originally created. The reboot reunites them with actresses Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who starred in four previous installments. In this iteration, Faris and Hall reprise their roles as Cindy and Brenda, with the parody targeting films such as "Scream," "KPop Demon Hunters," "John Wick," and the "Scary Movie" series itself.
These films, along with others like "Newborn," "Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane," and "Accursed," are available to rent or buy on platforms including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through cable providers. Additional titles available for rent include "A Mosquito in the Ear," "Everything But A Man," "Alien Storm," "Kill Code," "The Rebrand," "Unidentified (2026)," "Lars Shrike Walks The Night," "What Tomorrow Brings," and "Sour Party."
Among the films available for purchase are "Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul" and "Piggy Duster."
