Production has begun on a new film installment of "The Inbetweeners," with Netflix confirming the return of original stars Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas. The upcoming movie will feature the actors reprising their roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland, and Simon Cooper.
The original coming-of-age sitcom, which aired on E4 from 2008 to 2010, followed the misadventures of four teenage friends at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. The show has cultivated a new audience over the years through social media clips and its previous film sequels.
This new film is the third movie sequel, following installments released in 2011 and 2014, which were backed by Film4. A teaser video released by Netflix shows the four friends returning to their iconic yellow Fiat. The clip depicts the group getting into the car, with Simon struggling to start the engine before it eventually begins, and they drive away from what appears to be a storage unit.
