Netflix has confirmed it will axe a large slate of titles just weeks before Halloween, with removals set to roll out from the end of September into October. The company said viewers should expect a wave of titles to disappear in the coming weeks, shrinking access to several fan-favorite horror films and other legacy series on the platform.

Among the first titles slated for removal are the first three Saw films, The Cabin in the Woods (2012), Happy Death Day (2017) and its sequel, Sinister (2012) and Sinister 2, Us, Scream VI (2023) and The Unholy (2021).

Netflix’s early wave of removals also hits a broad mix of genres beyond horror. Viewers will lose the first season of A House of Blocks, Beyblade Burst Surge, Celebrity Gogglebox, Ray Winstone's Sicily, Supernatural Academy, RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars, RuPaul's Drag Race and Titipo Titipo; Shameless will be removed in its entirety, and the original season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is leaving the service.

Even as titles depart, Netflix points to new arrivals and the chance for reinstatements. The service has confirmed a revival from the past will arrive next month, with a Winx Club spin-off titled The Magic Is Back. The new CGI series is slated to debut in early October and will expand the Winx Club universe with fresh storylines and characters.

According to the rollout details, The Magic Is Back centers on Bloom, a girl who discovers she is a fairy blessed with an ancient power called the Dragon Flame. Joined by her Alfea Fairy School friends, Bloom and the six heroines defend the Magical Dimension as they face challenges with courage and empathy. The Winx Club franchise originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2019, spanning eight seasons and 15 years. The new spin-off is expected to include a new song performed by Virginia Bocelli, 13, the daughter of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

Netflix did not specify which titles would return after the Halloween removals, or whether any of the leaving items will be reinstated later.
