Country music singer Nate Smith has undergone a significant transformation, losing over 70 pounds and reporting a marked improvement in his energy levels both on and off stage. The "Bulletproof" singer, who once weighed around 275 pounds, now aims to reach 185 pounds, a goal that would bring him back to a weight he hasn't seen in years.

This weight loss journey has brought substantial changes to Smith's daily life. He noted that he no longer experiences breathlessness during simple activities, such as tying his shoes, and can now perform more dynamically during his concerts. "Keeping the energy on stage and making sure I do that, because I think that takes care of the fans," Smith said, highlighting his commitment to his audience. He also expressed a general feeling of well-being, stating, "I just feel better. It’s nice to be able to wear clothes that I like."

Smith's more visible results include a reduction in clothing size. He shared that he has gone from wearing double extra-large sizes for the past five or six years to now fitting into large sizes. "I don’t sweat anymore, which is amazing," he added, underscoring the physical benefits of his weight loss.

The catalyst for Smith's health focus was a medical scare in 2024, which prompted him to address issues related to overeating and excessive drinking. He began by reducing his daily caloric intake, which within a few months led to a nearly 50-pound weight loss. Smith acknowledges that challenges with binge eating persist but is working to reframe these instances as occasional treats rather than a regular habit.

Despite being motivated by his improved physical condition and appearance, Smith stated he is not yet at his ultimate goal weight. However, he expressed happiness with his current progress and newfound self-assurance. Smith shared these reflections while attending the Sports Illustrated and Tight End University’s Tight Ends & Friends Concert in Nashville last month.
