Natanya Ross, known for her role in the Nickelodeon science-fiction series "The Secret World of Alex Mack," recently attended a 1990s prom-themed birthday party for "Boy Meets World" alum Will Friedle, sporting a significantly altered appearance.
The 44-year-old actress, who previously starred as Robyn Russo on "The Secret World of Alex Mack" from 1994 to 1998, showcased a tattoo-sleeved makeover that she described as giving her a "hard-hitting edge." Ross has been open about her past struggles, including addiction and homelessness, and her journey toward sobriety and advocacy in the substance abuse and mental health fields.
Ross has spoken candidly about her addiction, stating that she battled drug and alcohol issues for most of her 20s and entered treatment at age 30. Following her sobriety, she dedicated 17 years to working in the substance abuse and mental health sector and advocating for those affected. She remains involved as the president of the board of directors for the Women's Association of Addiction (WAAT).
Her acting career extended beyond "The Secret World of Alex Mack" with roles in "Freaky Friday" (1995), "Little Monsters" (1989), "The Baby-Sitters Club" (1995), and "Bellyfruit" (1999). She also made guest appearances on numerous popular 90s television shows, including "Step by Step," "Boy Meets World," "ER," "The Faculty," "Baywatch," "Beverly Hills, 90210," and "Boston Public."
In recent endeavors, Ross launched a retro podcast titled "We're Still Here, Babe" last month. She is also slated to reunite with former castmates from "The Secret World of Alex Mack" at That's 4 Entertainment's 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, from October 16-18. Additionally, Ross is set to portray matriarch Deb Miller in the upcoming romance film "The Fantastic Santa Monaco."
Ross currently resides in Burbank, California, with actor Nate Richert, known for his role in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."
