Myleene Klass has been photographed without the nine-carat diamond engagement ring her fiancé Simon Motson presented in 2020, and friends say Motson has largely disappeared from the couple’s public life and the presenter’s social media.

Klass, 47, was seen last week performing a lively rendition of Chappell Roan’s "Pink Pony Club" at London St Pancras as part of a St John Ambulance first-aid campaign, wearing the charity’s green uniform. Observers noted the absence of the engagement band that Motson, a PR executive, gave to Klass after proposing at dinner in the couple’s north-west London garden in September 2020.

Friends and associates quoted by columnist Katie Hind said Motson, 50, has been scarcely visible in recent months and appears to have vanished from Klass’s online posts and public appearances. The couple share a six-year-old son, Apollo, and Klass has two older children, Ava, 18, and Hero, 13, from a previous marriage to Graham Quinn.

Klass briefly showed the ring on Instagram while promoting her radio work on Smooth Radio and Classic FM, commentators noted, but the post marked the first public display of the piece since May. She has not mentioned Motson in a recent print interview in which she discussed her older children in detail, prompting speculation among acquaintances about the status of their relationship.

The engagement, revealed with a Hello magazine shoot in 2020, has not yet yielded a wedding. The couple previously postponed plans amid Covid restrictions, and Klass told reporters last October that the family’s busy schedules had complicated efforts to set a date.

Motson appeared in photographs only occasionally in public over the past year, most notably in July when Klass received an MBE from King Charles. He was not seen in photos from recent trips Klass posted from the South of France and Greece.

The reports of Motson’s low profile coincide with renewed attention on Klass after she recounted an incident from 2011 in which she said she discovered her then-husband with another woman at a birthday party. Klass’s comments on a podcast in July set off widespread speculation about the identity of the unnamed woman, described by Klass as a celebrity known for "family values." According to reports, the woman has instructed lawyers seeking to prevent Klass from naming her, citing a right to privacy.

Friends told Hind that Motson’s absence may be connected to the legal and media attention. "Imagine being that close to the whodunnit storm," one source said. "While there is so much sympathy for Myleene, she has dragged a lot of people into this. Would she really do that to Simon?" Another associate described the situation as "a bit of a mystery," noting that Klass had previously appeared proud of the engagement and the man who proposed.

Some people who once counted Motson among their close friends said they had lost contact with him after he began dating Klass in 2015. Friends and family members interviewed in earlier reports said the couple’s social circles had become strained, with some suggesting relations had become distant over the years. One source referenced comparisons made at the time to other high-profile family rifts, saying it was "very sad" that some of Motson’s relatives and friends appeared unlikely to attend a future wedding.

Klass has publicly balanced work and family commitments while maintaining a visible media profile as a musician, presenter and broadcaster. She rose to prominence with the ITV talent show Popstars in 2001 and has since built a career in music and broadcasting.

Neither Klass nor Motson has issued a statement to clarify their relationship status following the recent reports. Representatives for the pair did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The developments highlight the intersection of personal life and public scrutiny for figures in British entertainment, and they come as Klass continues to promote charitable work and broadcasting projects amid ongoing attention to past and present relationships.
