Myleene Klass and Holly Willoughby were among a group of television personalities who gathered for a mutual friend's milestone birthday at Ce La Vi in London on Thursday, where they were filmed drinking champagne during an all-female lunch.

The event took place at the new luxury restaurant, which reportedly opened its doors to the party a day before its scheduled public launch. Also in attendance were Emma Bunton, Laura Whitmore, Christine Lampard and Kate Thornton. Holly Willoughby arrived at the lunch after taking part in the BGC Group Charity Day and did not attend this year's National Television Awards.

Video posted on social media showed the group gathered around a long table, where guests ate and drank as the afternoon progressed. Reported menu items included a watermelon and feta salad, shrimp tempura, and desserts such as matcha and mandarine choux and a dark chocolate and shiitake cremeux. Fashion details visible in the footage included Klass in a red jumper and skirt and Willoughby in a burgundy leather skirt with a textured jumper.

Klass posted a clip from the celebration to social media with a caption that read: "Celebrating our girl @shishib. 50 years on this planet and every one of them used to spread love. We’re lucky to have you in our lives."

The lunch followed a high-profile appearance by Willoughby on the BGC Group Charity Day, where she and other celebrities took donations by phone. Reports and social coverage noted her absence from the National Television Awards, which took place this week.

Earlier in the week Klass was involved in a tense on-air exchange with Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan, when the pair disagreed during a discussion about recent high-profile scandals. On Wednesday's show Klass interrupted Nolan, calling one of Nolan's comments "terrible" before the two quickly moved to clarify their positions on air.

Separately, tabloid reports have suggested there has been long-running tension between Klass and fellow Loose Women panellist Frankie Bridge; those reports say producers have sometimes sought to manage interactions between the two. ITV has not publicly commented on internal staffing discussions related to daytime programming amid wider cost-cutting at the broadcaster.

Guests at the birthday lunch posed for group photographs and shared moments on social media, while the restaurant's early private opening drew attention on the same day the venue prepared for its wider launch.
