During a segment on Good Morning Britain on Friday, television personality Kate Garraway was unexpectedly knocked off her chair by Mr Blobby, the popular pink-and-yellow spotted British character.

The chaotic on-air moment occurred as Mr Blobby, who first appeared in 1992 on the BBC's Noel's House Party, made an appearance to promote the upcoming auction of one of his original costumes. The segment quickly devolved when Mr Blobby stumbled, pulling Garraway to the floor with him.

Fellow presenters Ranvir Singh and Richard Arnold assisted Garraway and Mr Blobby as they struggled to get up. Garraway humorously remarked to the character, "We'll hold each other up."

The incident drew a strong reaction from viewers on social media platform X, with many expressing amusement. "My morning has been invaded by Mr Blobby!" one user posted, while another wrote, "Hi @kategarraway, you and Mr Blobby were hilarious."

The segment soon descended into disarray as a bumbling Mr Blobby fell over and dragged Kate down too.

The appearance coincided with the impending auction of an original Mr Blobby costume, one of the first three made for Noel's House Party. The costume is scheduled to be sold at Auctioneum Bristol on Monday, with an estimated price range of £3,000 to £5,000.

Auctioneer Andy Stowe described the costume as a piece of "pure British comedy history" and noted its history of performing stunts, including running along Charmouth beach and being dangled from a helicopter. He added, "If you ever saw footage of Mr Blobby wreaking havoc outside the studio, it was in this very costume."

This event follows a previous instance in 2023 where an original Mr Blobby costume listed on eBay for £39 escalated to £62,101 through 178 bids due to social media interest, though the winning bidder later withdrew their purchase.
