Moses Martin, the 20-year-old son of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, played his first London gig on Wednesday night at The Hawley Arms in Camden, a pub with deep ties to his father's band Coldplay. Martin performed with his rock band, People I've Met, to a packed audience in the same North London neighborhood where Coldplay launched their career in 1998.

Martin, who fronts the three-piece band alongside guitarist Orlando Wiltshire and bassist Andrew Suster, expressed his appreciation for London's music scene. "London feels a lot more musical than a lot of other cities in some ways," he told Rolling Stone. "And England in general is really receptive to new music and there is a culture of giving bands a chance and I think is really special."

The Hawley Arms has a storied history in the music industry, having served as a hub for artists like Amy Winehouse and frequented by numerous British musicians. Coldplay, then known as Starfish, played their initial concerts in the Camden area nearly three decades ago.

Martin acknowledged the advantages his famous parents provide, stating, "It’s definitely something to be reckoned with." He added, "I think the ultimate thing is that I'm very grateful to be in the position I’m in and I have a musical DNA through my parents." He emphasized that while he and his bandmates acknowledge their privileged position, they are focused on creating something unique. "We're doing something that is special and unique to us, and that we really care about," he said.

He also mentioned using his parents, particularly his father, as a sounding board for his music. "I really trust his opinion. But it’s the same with my Mum too, she has great taste," Martin noted.

People I've Met formed in high school in Los Angeles and later moved to the East Coast for college. The band released their debut single, "Promise," in December and followed up with a five-track EP titled "Bunny" in May. Their upcoming performances include sets at Reading Festival and Leeds Festival.

Martin's musical endeavors come shortly after his modeling debut in Burberry's "Escape to the Countryside" campaign. He will also be performing at Reading and Leeds festivals in the coming days, joining a lineup that includes other children of famous musicians.
