Model Molly Sims has publicly called out individuals in Hollywood for misrepresenting how they maintain their appearance, suggesting that many conceal cosmetic procedures and treatments.

In a recent interview with Us Magazine, Sims, 53, stated that many in the entertainment industry falsely claim their looks are solely the result of simple habits like drinking water and getting adequate sleep. "Hollywood people would say, 'I just drink a lot of water, and I slept eight hours.' I’m like, 'No, you f---ing didn’t,'" she recounted.

Sims shared an anecdote about a recent dinner with friends where the conversation primarily focused on cosmetic surgeries. "We’re like, 'She looks amazing. She did the upper lip, the lower. She did the CO2,'" she said, referring to popular aesthetic treatments. She believes it is important for the public to understand that such results are often achieved through more than just basic self-care.

Sims also reflected on her own experience entering the modeling industry during the era known as "heroin chic." She described the period as one where the expectation was to be "about 20 pounds underweight and very goth," a standard that she found personally difficult. "I went from Vanderbilt with my sorority sisters, where you’re dipping your fries in a Wendy’s Frosty and you think nothing of it," she recalled. "I was from a completely different world, and also the business had changed. [The] beautiful, normal body weight was not [in style] when I entered, and it gave me a lot of pause and a lot of tears."

As she has gotten older, Sims's approach to her fitness has shifted. Her current goal is not to appear younger but "to look the best I can at every age." She emphasized, "I don't want to be skinny; I want to be healthy."

Sims began her modeling career after leaving Vanderbilt University in the early 1990s. She gained significant recognition after appearing in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, with multiple subsequent appearances between 2000 and 2024. She noted her 2026 appearance in the magazine, stating on Instagram, "If only I could tell the 20-something version of me shooting her first @si_swimsuit issue that she’d still be here at 52… feeling more beautiful and confident in her skin than ever before."

In February 2023, Sims shared on her Instagram stories that she incorporates bone broth into her routine, describing it as beneficial for anti-aging, digestion, gut health, joint recovery, and sleep.
