Mel and Jacinta, the cousins who rose to fame on My Kitchen Rules, wasted little time turning their post-elimination spotlight into social outings in Sydney on Saturday. The pair were photographed at Belvedere's Exclusive Black Ball at Pelicano in Potts Point, mingling with a star-studded crowd that included former Married At First Sight stars and Mikey Gelo from F Boy Island. Mel, 36, wore a black off-the-shoulder mini dress and sipped rosé, while Jacinta, 34, arrived in an elegant fitted top and patterned trousers, finished with a statement belt.

Fans have dubbed them the Feisty Cousins during their MKR run, a label they say doesn't capture who they are. 'They painted us as being fiery, but honestly, we're just cheeky and love to have a laugh,' Mel told Daily Mail at the event. 'That side of us didn't really get shown.' Jacinta agreed, saying she expected viewers to see more of the fun they share, but the edit focused more on conflict. 'It was definitely a surprise watching it back.'

Off camera, the pair have long blended banter with cooking. Mel described her approach as healthy and creative, combining bold flavours with wholesome ingredients and room for experimentation. Jacinta, who has a background in nutritional medicine, said her aim is to encourage people to cook, have fun, and keep meals simple, joyful, and affordable.

Both sisters spoke of the show’s reception and whether they would return for another reality project. 'We'd definitely be open to doing something else,' Mel said, adding that they are enjoying the attention and the chance to showcase a different side of themselves.

Last week on MKR, Mel appeared upset during a tense moment at the table involving claims about past business and alleged scoring, prompting her to leave mid-dinner. Contestants Bailey and Maria accused the pair of temper tantrums and a victim mentality. The controversy followed the episode as viewers debated their conduct. Despite the on-screen drama, the cousins have pressed forward with plans for the future, including more appearances in reality TV if the right opportunity arises.
