Miley Cyrus hosted an invite-only party at the iconic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of her new single, "Bass Persuades." The singer shared a series of photos from the event on Instagram, showcasing her "full party girl" persona. The soiree took place last Thursday, with Cyrus posting the images on Saturday.

In the snapshots, Cyrus is seen in a black sleeveless dress with sheer lace detailing, complemented by opaque black tights, patent leather ballet flats, and gold jewelry. Her makeup featured grungy black eyeshadow and a pale nude lip. Other photos capture her posing with a flower in her mouth, a glass of champagne, and relaxing by a piano.

The release of "Bass Persuades" has seen mixed commercial performance. The single debuted at No. 23 on Spotify's Global 200 chart but fell off the chart entirely by its third day. It has shown stronger performance on Apple platforms, reaching No. 2 on iTunes in the United States and No. 41 on Apple Music's global top 100. In the UK, the track is predicted to debut at No. 13 on the official chart.

"Bass Persuades" marks a shift towards a more mainstream sound for Cyrus, following her previous album "Something Beautiful," which did not meet commercial expectations. This single is also her first release under Atlantic Records, after a five-year tenure with Columbia Records. During her time with Columbia, she released "Something Beautiful" and 2023's "Endless Summer Vacation," which included her hit single "Flowers."

The single was launched with a high-budget music video directed by Mert Alas. The video features Cyrus in a dimly lit dive bar and later dancing in the streets with a group. The lyrics of the song express a desire for a return to an analog era, urging listeners to put down their phones and dance.

Cyrus is set to release her next studio album, also titled "Bass Persuades," on September 18. She has also announced two concerts at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and October 18. Additionally, Cyrus has announced a rebrand, adopting a mononym and dropping her surname. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has publicly supported this decision, comparing her to other single-named artists like Cher and Dolly Parton.
