Mick Jagger, 83, is drawing praise from fans after sharing a video of himself dancing energetically at a club. The Rolling Stones frontman posted a clip on Sunday showing him on a crowded dance floor, waving his hands and shaking his hips to the band's new song, “Mr. Charm.”
Jagger captioned the video, “Enjoying the summer, hope you are too,” which quickly went viral, sparking a wave of positive reactions in the comments section of his post. Many fans expressed awe at his agility and zest for life.
“I can’t believe it!! @mickjagger. You are a marvel and you’ll never cease to amaze us!!” one user wrote. Another commented, “mick has more energy at 83 than i do at 30,” while a third quipped, “And so I still have to see a lot of people aged 30/40 say that they are not old enough to go out hahaha.”
Some fans drew playful comparisons to the 2011 Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera hit song “Moves Like Jagger,” with comments like “Wow, love seeing Mick moving like Jagger” and “dance like jagger.” The song, which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, was inspired by Jagger's charismatic stage presence, according to Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine in a 2011 interview with NPR.
In a recent interview with Reuters, Jagger humorously remarked that touring as an octogenarian felt “like being on stage at 78.” He credited his fitness to regular exercise, including two dance rehearsals and gym workouts per week, along with his father's background as a physical education teacher. Jagger also cited his enjoyment of performing and the interaction with the audience as sources of his energy.
The Rolling Stones released their latest studio album, “Foreign Tongues,” in June, featuring the song “Mr. Charm” and several other new tracks. The band concluded their Hackney Diamonds Tour in July 2024, which supported their 2023 album of the same name. While no tour has been announced for “Foreign Tongues,” Jagger has expressed optimism about the band returning to the stage in 2027.
