Michelle Pfeiffer, 68, has addressed rumors of her retirement, clarifying comments she made earlier this month about not wanting to star in another movie. The three-time Oscar nominee explained that her remarks were misinterpreted and that she has a strong preference for working in television.

"They're always saying that I'm retiring. I never said [that]," Pfeiffer stated during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She elaborated that her comment about "never wanting to star in another movie" was intended to convey her enjoyment of television projects.

Pfeiffer has appeared in two television series this year: "The Madison" and "Margo's Got Money Troubles." She noted the advantage of television work, stating, "It's wonderful to be able to live with a character for such an extended period of time," allowing her to "really just go deeper and find all of the different layers."

Both of her recent TV projects have garnered success. "Margo's Got Money Troubles," for which Pfeiffer earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, follows a young single mother who creates an OnlyFans account to support her family. Pfeiffer plays the mother of the protagonist, portrayed by Elle Fanning. The series also features Nicole Kidman and Rico Nasty, and its first season is currently available on Apple TV.

Her other series, "The Madison," is a contemporary Western created by Taylor Sheridan. The show centers on the Clyburn family's move to Montana after the death of the patriarch, Preston, played by Kurt Russell. Pfeiffer portrays Preston's widow, Stacy.

Pfeiffer's increased focus on television aligns with her marriage to television producer David E. Kelley, known for creating shows such as "The Practice" and "Ally McBeal." Kelley is also the showrunner for "Margo's Got Money Troubles," marking the first time he has collaborated professionally with Pfeiffer, his wife since 1993.
