Michelle Keegan has transformed into a determined detective for the upcoming police thriller "The Blame." First look images from the series show Keegan as Detective Inspector Emma Crane, who becomes embroiled in a corruption conspiracy while investigating the murder of a teen ice skater. The series is set to air this autumn.
In "The Blame," Keegan and co-star Douglas Booth, who plays Detective Inspector Tom Radley, are tasked with solving the murder. As their investigation deepens, they uncover a web of deceit, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromises, forcing DI Crane to question those closest to her.
The role marks Keegan's return to work after the birth of her daughter Palma last year. She has described the return as "daunting" but found the production team to be very supportive.
Keegan and Booth developed a strong on-screen chemistry, which Keegan attributed to bonding over quizzes and food during makeup sessions. "It was quite organic, we got on straight away," Keegan said.
Following "The Blame," Keegan is set to star in an adaptation of Harlan Coben's novel "The Woods" for Netflix. This collaboration follows her acclaimed role in the 2024 series "Fool Me Once," also based on a Coben novel. In "The Woods," Keegan will play Lucy Silverfield, reuniting with Paul 'Cope' Copeland to investigate the 20-year-old disappearance of his sister, a case that may hold clues to his sister's survival.
"The Woods" synopsis teases a story of long-buried secrets, with Paul Copeland becoming convinced his sister might have survived her presumed murder. The search for answers with Lucy Silverfield threatens to expose family secrets and potentially destroy everything he has rebuilt.
